Where Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Innovation

NKECH was born from a family health issue in 2023 that sparked an unexpected journey.

When one of our co-founder's mother developed persistent skin sensitivities that conventional products couldn't address, it exposed a troubling truth: countless "natural" brands promised purity but delivered products laden with harsh chemicals dressed in premium packaging.

The solution lay not in modern cosmetic laboratories, but in memories of grandmother's kitchen - the UBTAN recipes prepared with patience, the hair oils infused with love, the remedies passed down through generations of Indian women.

The Unlikely Beginning

NKECH's founder isn't from a lineage of Ayurvedic practitioners or cosmetic chemists. He's a CA aspirant and former Audit Manager who spent years in Dubai analyzing numbers and systems. But innovation has always been his true calling-from developing an award-winning electricity generation system from cow dung in school to creating industrial air purification solutions, he's always been someone who questions, researches, and refuses to accept "that's how it's always been done."

After relocating to India in November 2024, a childhood friend-more like a brother-saw an opportunity. Over chai one evening, he posed a challenge: "You've always found solutions where others see problems. Why not create something that transforms lives?"

He didn't just offer encouragement. He believed enough to invest his own resources. His wife, Ayushi-founder’s Rakhi sister - became a partner - bringing not just her stake in the company but her trust in an idea that was still just formulas in notebooks.

The Research Process

What followed were months of intensive research - diving into Ayurvedic texts not as tradition to be followed blindly, but as science to be understood deeply. Consulting with traditional practitioners. Testing. Refining. Questioning every ingredient's purpose and mechanism.

The co-founder's wife – Dhara Joshi, an entrepreneur with years of business experience in Dubai, brought strategic thinking and practical perspective. Together, they approached Ayurveda with both respect and scientific rigor.

The first attempt-an UBTAN-based soap-failed commercially. But failure became the foundation for success.

The pivot to facewash changed everything. A reformulated UBTAN blend with over 17 carefully researched herbs, clays, and botanical powders. Each ingredient chosen not because tradition dictated it, but because the research revealed why it worked.

The Validation

When friends and family began testing the first facewash, results spoke louder than marketing ever could. Persistent acne that had resisted expensive dermatological treatments began clearing. Uneven skin tone that had been a source of insecurity for years started transforming.

People weren't being polite - they were demanding more bottles, asking when they could buy it officially.
